Television shows battle entropy. The longer they are on the air, the less sense they tend to make. The Simpsons has been on for, like, over 20 years and Bart Simpson is still ten years old! How much sense does that make? But when you compare a TV show to its T-shirt, sometimes it’s more complex than the show itself.
Beverly Hills 90210 was probably one of the most vapid, self-centered shows on television. However, the High Drama T-shirt sums it up nicely. You don’t even need to know what the show was about.
Beavis & Butthead was one of the dumbest cartoons ever to grace the boob tube. But take heed 90’s person, you’re old! Yes, B&B are now vintage and nothing sums up your age better than this TV t-shirt. How did your childhood slip away? It was probably all the TV you were watching.
Curb Your Enthusiasm is just coming on the air for some people, so you can get ahead of the curve for nostalgia. Although, if you grew up with this show, you’re probably really, really, really neurotic. Nothing says, “I like television” better than a t-shirt with your favorite show, except, of course, sitting in front of the TV with that t-shirt on.
In 30 Rock, there are shows within shows, within movies within shows. That means, Tracy Jordan’s fake movies can actually be expanded up on with a T-shirt. It’s like your shirt is the extra on the DVD or Blu-Ray. Consider it an Easter Egg made of 100% cotton.
But maybe you want to be more subtle. Instead of shouting to the world that you love The Big Bang Theory, a crafty visual can convey it to your fellow fans. Now you can finally start that secret club, with secret handshakes to go with your secret TV t-shirt. Just remember not to get your visuals confused. You don’t want to accidentally start a cult for Mork and Mindy.
